I read the post How to Detect Bull**** by Scott Berkun. It was an interesting article, but then I thought back to my blog and my arguments for space habitation. I got a horrible feeling in my belly. I worry that my arguments are full of BS. I am concerned that I cannot answer the question “how do you know” for any of my arguments. I can tell anyone the resources found on the moon and I know of the LCROSS mission, but these are from secondary sources, like newspapers mainly. I have not read the paper released by the LCROSS team or read studies detailing the resources on the moon. Also, a lot of my understanding comes from fellow bloggers. I have been reading a few books on topics related to space habitation over my winter break, but these make up about 10% of my knowledge on space habitation.
I am really not familiar with the counter argument to space habitation. I have not read economic analysis that proves space habitation is not possible, but I know that analysis exists.
So, I am going to fix this by…
- Every Thursday I am going to write a counter argument, disproving my position on space habitation and space habitation itself.
- Every Saturday I am going to post a review on a book covering a topic in space habitation.
I hope these two new features will help improve the quality of this blog.
Reactions
-Do you think my blog contains BS and under argued points?
