The Cost, Per Hour, Per Human is Low for Space and Space Habitation

I read The Simple Dollar post Passion by the Hour. Based on that post, I think the cost, per hour, per human for space is low. Frank Borman said "Exploration is really the essence of the human spirit". I think humanity is passionate about exploration. We lust after the knowledge of what is over the hill. We fight for a better world for our children to enjoy. So, we are passionate about space because of what it offers.

This is the core idea of The Simple Dollar post...

If a purchase is in line with someone’s passion, the cost per hour of that purchase is pretty low - it’s a value. If a purchase isn’t in line with a passion, the cost per hour on that purchase is very high - it’s a waste of money.

There are some really useful conclusions that can be drawn from this.

First, it’s fine to spend money on your passions if you know what they are. If you’re passionate about something, you’re going to wind up investing a lot of time on it, simply because the activity is important to you. Thus, it’s completely worthwhile to invest in that passion. (The Simple Dollar)

Thus, I think the money spend on space activities divided by the number of man hours impacted by space activities will be a low number.
